Course Structure: Day One: Introduction • DVD Presentation • Theory session • Practical forklift training
Day Two: • Review of theory • Practical training • Theory test • Practical test
This Two Day Forklift Licence Training Course (Beginner) covers the following subjects:
• Accident Awareness • Principal Forklift Components • Forklift Balance and Stability • Safe Working Load (SWL) • Loading and Unloading Racks and Stacks • Forklift Attachments • Refueling • Pre and Post Operational Safety Checks • Practical Forklift Driving and Operation Instruction • Site Risk Assessment • Relevant Victorian OH&S Requirements and Duty of Care
At the end of this Two Day Forklift Licence Training Course (Beginner), participants will receive a:
Nationally accredited temporary forklift licence (LF – Licence to perform high risk work) which will allow them to legally drive forklift trucks until they receive their 5 year licence (See prerequisites for further info).
In accordance with requirements by WorkSafe Victoria, all participants must be at least 18 years of age and must be able to communicate in basic English.
Participants need to read and become familiar with the forklift training manual which we provide, before their scheduled date of assessment.
For participants who are not confident with their written English skills, an oral theory assessment is available upon request.
Although, due to Work Safe requirements, the theory test must be completed in English, we can provide the forklift training manual translated into Chinese or Burmese to assist with learning of the material (unfortunately translations into other languages are not available at this time).
The participant must be able to provide one form of current photo ID (Australian Driver’s Licence, Passport or Key Pass) for training and assessment.
The participant must be able to provide 100 points of ID when lodging the relevant documents at Australia Post after testing.
Within 60 days after testing participants need to visit an Australia Post office to lodge their paper work along with 1 passport quality photo and the $60 WorkSafe licence fee. WorkSafe will post out the participant’s 5 year licence card 2-3 weeks later. This licence is valid 5 years and can be renewed at an Australia Post outlet.
