About This Training Course

This One Day EWP Training Course (WorkSafe WP Licence to Perform High Risk Work is designed for people who have some previous Elevating Work Platform experience. Beginners may also participate in this course but they must be willing to learn the training material thoroughly prior to attending the course.

The One Day WP (Boom Lift over 11m) Course Training Course provides practical and theory training to obtain a nationally recognised Boom Lift (over 11m) licence (WP – Licence to Perform High Risk Work).

Class sizes are small to allow training to be adapted to student's varying degrees of competency.

• Identifying workplace hazards
• Hazard control measures
• Choosing the right EWP
• Pre and post operational checks
• Setting up the EWP
• Operating the EWP
• Shut down and secure procedures
• Relevant Victorian OH&S Requirements and Duty of Care

Training Course Outcomes

At the end of this One Day WP (Boom Lift over 11m) Course Training Course, participants will be issued an interim Licence to Perform High Risk Work - WP (boom lift over 11m) which is valid for 60 days.

Within this 60 day period, participants must go to Australia Post with 100 points of id, provide passport quality photograph (or have their photo taken by Australia Post) and pay $60 to WorkSafe Victoria who will send out their five year licence.

Prerequisites

In accordance with requirements by WorkSafe Victoria, all participants must be at least 18 years of age and must be able to communicate in basic English.

Participants need to learn the course material which we provide, before the scheduled date of their course.

The participant must be able to provide one form of current photo ID (Australian Driver’s Licence, Passport or Key Pass) for training and assessment.

The participant must be able to provide 100 points of ID when lodging the relevant documents at Australia Post after testing.

Participants must be able to work at heights.

Start Training’s instructors have been involved in the training industry for over ten years and have a depth of experience drawn from the construction, transport, wholesale and retail industry sectors.

Start Training’s training facility in Kilsyth includes a fully equipped simulated warehouse and multiple training room and is accessible by public transport. Free parking is available.
