"This Confined Space Training Course has been designed to comply with the requirements of two seperate confined space competencies, one form the Resource and Infrastructure training package, RIIOHS202A - Enter and Work in a Confined Space and the other from the Water Industry training Package, NWP219A - Work safely in confined spaces. This offer choice to trainees about which of the competencies suite their work situation best. Either competency is a potential outcome from successfully completing the SafeTSolutions confined space course. Decide which suits you best during the registration process on day one of the course.Additionally, this course includes a Nationally Recognised Operate Breathing Apparatus competency - MSAPMOHS216A ensuring an indepth understanding of all aspects of confined space obligations including rescue using breathing apparatus. AS2865 is inscribed in the QLD WHS Regulations and forms the basis for regulation in all other states and territories. This course prepares trainees to comply with their legal obligations whilst developing their skills to do so."
"This Confined Space Training Course is not just covering a sub section required for a specific task but address all requirements for compliance with the legal requirements when working in or on confined spaces, completing permits, identifying hazards, assessing risks and implementing controls or developing and practising emergency response plans. The course is delivered over three eight hour days (7.45 am - 4.00 pm each day) and consists of modules covering the Ligislation, Confined Space Definition, Risk Assessment, Permits, Rescue, Confined Space Equipment including Gas Detectors and the use and care of Breathing Apparatus. It further reviews CPR procedues."
"A practical session covers preparation to enter a confined space, comleting a permit to enter, entry to work and then a rescue following a simulated incident in the space as well as using and testing gas detectors and breathing apparatus. Assessment of trainees are by way of a written exam and observation of classroonm participation as well as the successfull completion of the practical session. Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a small plastic wallet card indicating successfully completed competencies."
A reasonable level of english communication skills and a basic fitness level is required to complete the training.
"What is a confined space? confined space means an enclosed or partially enclosed space that—
(a) is at atmospheric pressure when anyone is in the space; and (b) is not intended or designed primarily as a workplace; and (c) could have restricted entry to, or exit from, the place; and (d) is, or is likely to be, entered by a person to work; and (e) at any time, contains, or is likely to contain, any of the following (i) an atmosphere that has potentially harmful levels of a contaminant; (ii) an atmosphere that does not have a safe oxygen level; (iii) anything that could cause engulfment. "
